Wind Forces Sweetwater Cancelation With ASCS Western And Northern Plains
The attempt to compete was made, however, following the first Heat Race between the ASCS Western and Northern Plains Regions on Saturday at Sweetwater Speedway, the call was made to cancel the Sprint Cars from the rest of the program due to wind.
The track posted to Social Media, stating, "We would like to apologize to the fans who came specifically to watch the ASCS Sprint Cars. Due to the constant winds with gusts over 50mph winds, it was unsafe to run their second heat and main event."
The 2026 season marks the 35th season of competition for the American Sprint Car Series. Spearheaded by the American Sprint Car Series National Tour, the ASCS Nation includes several regional tours, along with cooperating tracks and events throughout the United States.
