Sweetwater Speedway Crowns 2025 Champions After Thrilling Weekend of Racing
ROCK SPRINGS, WY – Sweetwater Speedway wrapped up its 2025 season with a two-day championship weekend that delivered high-octane action and crowned new track champions. The weekend was packed with unforgettable moments, including a father-son duel, a first-time winner, and a dominating season performance.
Friday Night Highlights: A Night of Firsts and Family Pride
Friday night kicked off the championship weekend with a bang, showcasing some of the most competitive racing of the season. The IMCA Sport Compacts saw a massive 28 cars take to the track, with Travis Bott claiming the feature win. In a testament to the skill of the drivers, the race ran green-to-checkered without a single caution flag.

The IMCA Modifieds celebrated a first-time winner at Sweetwater Speedway, as Terrell Payne from Idaho secured a hard-fought victory. Drivers were four and five wide all night throughout the pack and put on a thrilling race for the fans in the stands.

Meanwhile, the IMCA Sport Mods provided the most dramatic finish of the night. A late-race caution bunched up the field, leading to a thrilling restart that saw Dave Pitt lose the lead and the win to his son, Slade Pitt, in a truly memorable moment for the family.

Saturday Night: Champions Are Crowned
The final night of racing saw even more cars hit the track to compete for the prestigious championship titles. Cody Poll secured the win in the Sport Compacts, Josh Pate took the top spot in the Sport Mods, and Casey Delp was victorious in the Modified division.

However, the real story of the night was the final season standings. In the IMCA Modifieds, Justen Yeager claimed the championship title with a slim six-point lead over Casey Delp. The IMCA Sport Mod championship went to Tony Dugan, who finished just three points ahead of Shawn Parrish. The IMCA Sport Compacts had a clear champion all season, as Cody Poll dominated with four feature wins and a commanding 26-point lead over Ethan Poll.
Dirt Drag Demonstration at Halftime
Adding to the excitement, the Rockin' Rollin' Rentals and Sales crew provided a thrilling dirt drag demonstration during the halftime show on both Friday and Saturday nights. This preview was a glimpse into their upcoming event, the Rockin' Rollin' Rentals and Sales Dirt Drags, which will take place on the front stretch of the Sweetwater Speedway on September 5th and 6th.
