Sweetwater Speedway Gears Up for Thrilling 2025 Season
Rock Springs, WY - Sweetwater Speedway is roaring back to life with the 2025 race season promising high-octane action and thrilling competition. The track is set to host a variety of events, drawing drivers and fans from across the region.
The 2024 season saw some intense battles and well-deserved champions. Here's a look at some of the top contenders from last year:
IMCA Sport Compact: Jonathon Crawford
IMCA Sport Mod: Brian Carey
IMCA Modified: Bryson Yeager
Go Kart - Beginner: Justice Lee
Go Kart - Intermediate: Clay Miller
Go Kart - Advanced: Danica Delp
These drivers set the bar high, and the 2025 season is expected to bring even more excitement as new and returning racers vie for the top spots.
Behind the scenes, Sweetwater Speedway has been undergoing significant improvements. Pitt Construction has been hard at work, notably enhancing the pit area. The crushed asphalt upgrade will undoubtedly improve the experience for both drivers and their crews, providing a more efficient and comfortable environment with less dust blowing.
In addition to the pit area enhancements, the track itself has received a major facelift. Pitt Construction crews added 30 loads of clay to the racing surface. This fresh clay is expected to enhance traction and create a more dynamic racing experience, leading to faster times and closer competition.
Track volunteers have also been working to enhance the fan experience and give a facelift to the kids play area located between the Grandstands Family Section and the Scoring Tower. The Beer Shed also received a new coat of paint, coolers and is the perfect place for the new merchandise for the 2025 season. T-shirts and sweatshirts this year not only feature a track favorite modified car, but also many of the sponsors that help make racing possible.
The 2025 schedule is packed with exciting events, including:
Pitt Stop Motorsports Modified Special: May 23-24
Sprint Car Spectacular: June 6-7 (featuring the ASCS Northern Plains Region)
Drive In Movie: June 21 - no racing, but come and enjoy an old fashioned drive in movie experience.
Late Model Special: July 4-5
Full Fender Weekend Special: August 15-16
Labor Day Sport Compact Special: August 29-30
Rockin' Rollin' Rentals and Sales Dirt Drags: September 5-6
With the track improvements, the return of fierce competitors, and a full schedule of exciting events, Sweetwater Speedway is poised for a spectacular 2025 season. Race fans won't want to miss a single lap!
